SAMHAIN– THE CELTIC NEW YEAR

Pre-winter Autumn is the season when the world's energies are disappearing when the collection is accumulated and winter is around the corner. For the Celts, each new day began in haziness at nightfall and comparatively, their new year starts in the time of most noteworthy dimness before the colder time of year solstice. As far as they might be concerned, Samhain was the primary day of winter.

It was viewed as a period for divination and for dreaming when the cover between the universes was, as at Beltane, at its most slender. It was likewise a period for the phantoms of the family to get back to home. This might have been set apart by an Idiotic Dinner where the feast was served in complete quiet with a spot laid at the top of the table for the progenitors. Everybody present needed to try not to gaze straight toward the unfilled seat as though they saw the dead it would bring misfortune. Toward the finish of the dinner, the food was set outside for the pookas.

Witches would travel abroad at Samhain. It was accepted that they flew on besoms or rode on ravens or dark-striped felines that were become dark for the evening. Each of the witches of Scotland would meet on Samhain eve to celebrate, cast spells, and make predictions.

Pixies would likewise be making the rounds on Samhain eve, moving from the hillocks where they'd spent the mid-year to pushcarts where they'd spend the colder time of year. In the event that somebody had been lost to the pixies in the earlier year, this was an ideal opportunity to get them back by grabbing them from their pony as they rode past. The ruler of the pixies, Gwyn ap Nudd, lived inside Glastonbury Peak. He was the Ruler of the Hidden world and head of the Wild Chase which braved from the Peak on Samhain. It was a harbinger of death and bearer of misfortune to all who saw it. White Yeth dogs ran before the Wild Chase as it looked for spirits to return to the hidden world.

In the High countries of Scotland, each house would light a huge fire on the closest slope. At the point when the fire subsided, the debris would be accumulated all around and a stone put in for each individual from the family. The next morning assuming any stones were viewed as moved or harmed, the individual who'd set that stone was supposed to kick the bucket soon.

At the turn of the year, as the earth embraces obscurity, Samhain stays a period for reflecting, resting, and reconnecting. On the off chance that you're searching for another fantasy or a venture to deal with, this is a great opportunity to envision and permit space for dreaming. So at sunset on Halloween (going house to house asking for candy allowing!) require a moment to light a flame to imply the beginning of the new year and permit yourself a brief period for dreaming.
